I was really excited about photographing my friend Corrine's kids today, and we had an awesome session! I wish we could have gotten a few more good shots of Ashlynn but as most of us know, babies call the shots. She was a trooper though. Sean was AMAZING to shoot! He is such a cute and photogenic little guy. I'm definitely looking forward to more sessions with this wonderful family! Thank you Corrine, Sean and Ashlynn for making what I do so much fun!

Corbett photo session

Today I am doing a portrait session for my friend Corrine's children, Sean and Ashlynn. We are going to Memorial park in St. Marys because Corrine mentioned that she has always thought it would be great for taking pictures. I aim to please! It looks like the rain is going to hold off so today should be a really great day! They are such great kids, so taking their pictures will be more fun than work!

pay it forward

Normally I'm off work on Sunday's, but I had to work today because I traded to have last night off. Anyways, when I clocked out for lunch, I went to Sonic to get something to eat. I was waiting in the drive-thru and I noticed the guy in the car in front of me talking to the girl at the window and motioning back towards me. And then I heard him tell her something about the lady behind him (I turned around and looked, it was just him and myself). Not knowing for sure what to think, I pulled forward to pay for my food. The girl at the window tells me "That guy just paid for your food" I'm like, "What? No, seriously, here's my money for my dinner" But whoever it was, did indeed pay for my meal. I have never had that actually happen to me before. I've thought about doing it for someone else at times but have just never gone and done it. Next time I have a few extra dollars in my pocket, though, I am going to do it. So, to the nice stranger who paid for my dinner tonight, thank you, whoever you are! It's comforting to know that there are people like you still left in this crazy world!

Let's do this

Ok, I'm really starting to fall in love with the photography thing. So much in fact, that I am now making plans to start doing it full time. I've got a ways to go, but I've got a goal in sight and I'm running towards it as fast as I can!

the world through my eyes

I have always loved photography. I'm getting more and more interested in it, from an artistic perspective. I see some kind of artisitc element in almost everything I look at without even trying to find it. My kids and I went on a photography adventure today. There are too many pictures to post so I'm going to pick a few of my favorites. Enjoy!

Looking back for a moment

I'm working on winding down from a long night at work right now. And I guess ny 4 year old has no concept of time yet because it's 3:34 a.m. and she is up and playing like it's daytime. But I secretly enjoy times like these because she's growing up and changing so fast. Every day I notice little things that show me how she's growing up. This is our time to have together without anyone else interrupting, even if it is before the butt crack of dawn. We talk about things and laugh together. I don't have to be Supermom or anything else, we're just mommy and Sarah loving each other and loving being together. As she grows I can't help but look back on the past 4 years and wonder where they have gone? I still remember the first time I ever saw her. It was my 24th birthday and I started bleeding at work so we rushed to the E.R. Up to that point, I had never been so scared in all my life. I was trying to stay positive that my sweet little baby was going to be ok. This picture was the best birthday present I will ever receive in my whole life

Sarah decided that March 2, 2005 was the day she would join our family. It was a little ahead of her due date, which was March 13th. Grandma was hoping she would come on the 12th and they could share a birthday. But as we all know now, Sarah does things her own way! I'm just thankful that I had a quick labor!! Only 4 hours! (Sarah's little brother was even faster, only 90 minutes!) And just like that, we became a family of 3. I have enjoyed every single second that this beautiful little girl has been a part of my life. I can't wait to see what the future holds for us together. I love you, Sarah Renee!

First birthday!

Look at her now!

Sarah had a sleepover with grandma last night. So besides a good night's sleep for Mommy, what else does that mean? A jackpot of new toys for little brother! As I said before, he's a Toy Story nut, so you can plainly see how happy he is with his new buddies!
